about

Linosphere's sophomore release Timebox represents the surprising creativity that is sparked by small bursts of intimately focused collaboration. Leveraging the diverse musical personalities of a band that knows no boundaries, the album captures a refined approach to the jagged edges between jazz, rock, experimentation, and whimsy.

With each member contributing compositions to the overall effort, the 10-track epic takes the listener to underground and occasionally intimate corners of the burgeoning Los Angeles jazz scene. On this follow-up to their 2015 EP "Digit Illusion", Timebox retains founding members Jacob Richards, Chris Lawrence, and Zephyr Avalon. The additions of Colin Cook (guitar), tenor saxophonist Mike Lebrun, and Jacob Mann (keyboards) bring a refreshing fullness to the group's sound. Breathing full life into the work, the engineering and production guidance of Cassidy Turbin (of Beck) and Jon Gray creates soundscapes that take the listener on an occasionally haunting and constantly enthralling journey.
